How Your Resistances Can Help YouOur resistances are the most prominent things that shape our life experience. This seems so ironic when we think about it from a conscious and logical perspective. It makes more sense when we take into account how our subconscious mind quite often creates situations for us that are not always the best things that we need to experience. For example if a person has a subconscious fear of speaking to women, he might externalize this fear on an unconscious level to form a conscious experience that forces him to perceive the world as a place where all women are hostile.
The above is a simplistic example of a real and damaging process that occurs when our conscious resistances are suppressed and ignored. The lesson that it is important for us to understand is that the purpose of these resistances is to teach us. In the process of overcoming them we test our strength, courage, and self will. However the modern individual who believes that suppressing these resistances makes them disappear does not realise that the lessons do not disappear at all. Instead, the lessons change themselves into a different form. It has been said that the law of attraction can be put into motion when a person decides on their goal, desire, or final result. It is also in the process of suppressing our resistances are that we define our goals, desires, and final results in life. If we suppress our fear of doing something (whether because it is too difficult or just too frightening) we channel that fear into the subconscious to give it full power over our conscious perception. Clear PerceptionThe difference between a person who seems comfortable with the world around them and a person who seems fearful or biased or just uncomfortable doing particular things that should not cause fear or discomfort is their lack of clear perception. This lack of clear perception results in the misalignment between interpreting things in their true state and in the state of subconscious projections that a person makes on them. One of the greatest obstacles to allowing our goals to manifest themselves and to put the law of attraction into action is clearing the divergence between our actual experience and our experience as we see it through the subconscious projections that we place on it. It is not possible to attract our goals while pre-existing goals exist in the subconscious mind — these hold us back from experiencing clear perception. How Your Resistances Can Help YouClear perception could not be achieved while a person believes he or she can escape from these lessons that bring about self understanding. The power to alter our current state of being is congruent with self-knowledge. The more we know about each aspect of our experience, the more we are able to alter it. To look into the world unattached is to perceive the patterns that attract the same situations, experiences, and lessons. If a person has suppressed these lessons then patterns of aversion and avoidance of certain experiences will become evident. On the other hand often we prefer to hide from the lessons by following a certain routine in our lives that allows us to avoid this process of learning. In either case, our resistances always create a wall between our present self and our higher self, and if it becomes a matter of habit then it is not difficult to believe that our potential cannot exceed the boundaries of this wall. If we then demand happiness, love, and the fulfilment of all our goals, then all we are doing is throwing these ideals at the wall we have built. It is not possible to manifest a goal while all of our power is invested in the fears, obstacles, and aversions that we have pushed into the subconscious mind. Until we can believe in ourselves, achieving something for ourselves becomes impossible. If we believe we want to achieve happiness and our subconscious mind is screaming that it fears that exact thing which will bring happiness then it becomes impossible to move forward. However if we overcome these fears, obstacles, and resistances, we gain a greater level of self understanding and confidence to move forward. |
