Strange Medical Symptoms and Alternative Explanations

  • Even though modern medicine has gained a certain degree of trust when we are looking for an explanation for physical and mental symptoms, there are times when our medical system utterly disregards other possibilities for what we may be feeling or experiencing.

This blind and almost arrogant approach to diagnosing physical and mental sensations is often completely oblivious to causes outside the reach of common medical knowledge. Many spiritually oriented and extrasensory symptoms are confused for dysfunctions, and oftentimes interpreted as something that should be cured.

To date more than ever modern societies are using the latest scientific discoveries to find more explanations for what could be wrong with us, instead of using these frontier tools to endorse self-knowledge as a means of healing. Our nation is one struck with fear, and often people make themselves vulnerable to expert opinions out of desperation and failure to realize their own inner power to heal.

Today there exist hundreds of diagnoses for visual disturbances, inclusive but not limited to our ability to visualise, imagine, and create. Our potential for creativity has been so violently abused and repressed throughout human history that we are afraid to even consider any change in our state of being as natural.

Through the expansion of this fear we have built a medical culture where all the rage is to be normal and to feel as a normal person should feel. This also includes behaviour, social standards, how people look, act, and feel. These factors are becoming more normalized and standardized as time passes - rather than promoting individual uniqueness.

The aim of this article is to encourage readers to ask themselves whether an alternative model to explain their experiences and symptoms could exist. Just remember that if we are diagnosing people who are more sensitive to extrasensory sensations and those with an ability for great imagination, or even ideas outside the norm, as schizophrenics, then a time could come when even the power to even have an imaginative thought or a creative image might have a cure that we are all encouraged to take.
