Chakra Balancing Meditation

Chakras are, in essence, the binding points of the presence our soul has in the physical world. Based on how a person acts or feels a chakra profile can be established. This is a meditation designed to re-balance the main energetic centers (chakras).

It is important to note that energy related to chakras is both psychological and spiritual in nature. Thus each chakra must be approached from a spiritual and psychological perspective for balancing to be most effective. This guide will go through each of the chakras one at a time and offer some general insight into energy body balancing.

The basis of this meditation is devised from a combination of information from external sources and effective techniques I have learnt myself. This technique is simple to do and requires no past experience at all.

How to use this guide

This guide needs to be read through once or twice, but the actual process itself is systematic and requires minimum effort on concentrating on what you are doing (i.e. the steps themselves). Thus it can be applied whenever convenient without making continuous references to the actual guide. The experience itself is what counts, if a new experience comes along during the meditation go along with it and see where it leads - but do not let the mind wander into something unproductive.

This chakra meditation is often enjoyable and attaining a calm state of mind through this meditation can lead to other meditative experiences. This practice also helps with self-reflection and introspection. The meditation can be used to supplement or compliment other retrospection or self observation efforts.

Read this guide first, and then do the meditation at a later time when convenient. Re-read at a later time after doing the first practice to refresh the technique. Once the technique becomes a habit it will become a matter of practicing it on demand.

Preparation

The most suitable place to first learn this practice is often in a calm area where you can relax easily, such as a bedroom. Any form of preparation that will aid in relaxation is good. For example, a soft light and light music might be beneficial. This is up to you. In my experience each chakra should be meditated on for at least 2-3 minutes before moving onto the next. Lie on your back and close your eyes during this meditation.

The Meditation Guide

Place the right hand over the heart. Take the left hand and move it near the energy sphere just below the tailbone. Imagine a bright red light emanating as roots from the ground into the region within the area of the first main chakra. Reflect on your ability to feel connected and your ability to stay grounded in the world. Consider how comfortable and confident you are in manifesting your ideas and concepts into solid reality. If you are practicing this meditation in the evening recollect each pertaining event of your day and apply them to your reflection.

Maintain the right hand on the heart and move the left hand to the lower abdomen. Picture an amber circle of fluid flowing freely in a clockwise direction within and around the second primary chakra. Retrospect the events of your day. Recognize how easy it was for your emotions and feelings to flow today and how clearly you can express your feelings in everyday life. As you retrospect each event picture the orange fluid becoming more clear and purified.

Bring the left hand to the location just below the rib cage. Perceive a large yellow flame burning or twirling in a clockwise direction within the solar plexus. From the first to the last, reproduce the events of the day in the minds eye. Consider how strong your will is. With each situation that is reflected on estimate your level of assertiveness and confidence, how much power you had and how much you gave to others in each situation. During each breath you inhale perceive your fire expanding and growing stronger.

Now bring the left hand to the heart area and place it under the right hand over the heart. Envision a large green ball glowing and expanding within your chest. Evaluate situations where you have been uncompassionate in the past and meditate on how you could be more empathetic and understanding towards others and yourself. As you meditate on this allow your heart area to embrace whichever sensations appear.

Allow the left hand to rest over the heart and move the right hand below the throat area, in between the collar bones. Imagine a small blue sphere resonating throughout the area. Investigate into how creative you are in your daily tasks. Allow yourself to explore whether you are good at listening and communicating, and whether you can balance both well. Consider truth and how true you are to yourself and to others. Which lies do you tell yourself, and why? Hold onto the energy of truth, clarity, and justice and feel it expanding from your throat chakra in waves throughout your entire body. Allow this energy to merge the blockages that cause the separation from the self that is and the truth that is desired.

Place the right hand over the forehead. Visualize either a bright white light or an indigo flame as a stream of radiance around the third eye. Bring concentration towards how well you use the powers of imagination. Consider each time you have acted on your intuition and each time you have ignored it. Question how lies from the throat chakra manifest themselves into illusions about life in the brow center, and consider how these can be removed with the help of the throat center meditation.

In conclusion to the main meditation, place the right hand above the head where the crown chakra resonates. Imagine a fountain of white light pouring down over your head covering and energizing the entire body with sparkles of energetic bliss. Sit in a silent meditation for a few moments and allow yourself to assimilate your introspection from each of the chakra practices. Once done meditate on the energy of oneness and fulfillment, or other feelings present. Draw the energy down to the root (first) chakra and shoot it up across your spinal column up to and through the crown chakra.

Many aspects of the self become much more natural and in-tune after balancing the chakras using the method above - which allows for further meditation and healing to take place.
