October 2008 Reflections

From Alexander
Posted in News and Opinion on Oct 31st, 2008

It's Halloween. It's the end of the month, and soon to be the end of 2008. More people are becoming self-aware of their inner potential as the collective consciousness moves into a new era. There is a lot to be said about how uncertain the state of our planet has become, in fact. As things are beginning to change two distinct but separate attitudes can be found if one looks close enough — the attitude of fear and the attitude of trust.

Trusting in positive change is hard enough without the added pressure of an uncertain future for the world. A financial crisis might after all be the collapse of an underlying structure of ideals that are just no longer suited to the growing state of consciousness. Consciousness is moving more and more towards the individual and far from the structured mode of ranks, social classes, and prejudiced notions about each other.

However for most it is difficult to trust in change because change often means that something dies, collapses, and fades, before something new is born. In the end, though, it is still a personal decision:

"Am I going to respond with fear or am I going to trust this process?"

Eckhart Tolle wrote once that we can approach all of life's problems from an ego perspective or a consciousness perspective. If there is something lacking or something negative to be perceived, then it often means that there is something to be gained or a positive change coming to consciousness. It is through trusting this conscious process that we are able to avoid getting locked in the shadows of the ego that doubt and fear it.

Blog Update

The blog facelift is almost done. I will continue to add things to the design here and there from time to time but most of the navigation will be on the sidebar now — with the latest and best posts right at the top of the site. I think this makes the blog much easier to navigate, however I welcome all feedback from readers about the design. The audio section that I had planned has been put on hold for a couple of weeks. I am moving to another state and no-one else can help manage the blog for the time being, which means that some of the plans for articles and audio I had have to wait. However things should be back to normal soon.

Quotation of the month

Peace is not an absence of war, it is a virtue, a state of mind, a disposition for benevolence, confidence, justice.
