July 2008 Reflections

Posted in Uncategorized on Jul 31st, 2008

This month things have been somewhat quite at Spiritual Blog. I have decided to release a digital download of a book I had been planning to publish but could not find the right medium for. It occurred to me that this site is the right medium to make it most accessible to people around the world. So I have been spending a lot of time on polishing it up, next month there will be more news on that. Read on »

The Dark Night of Self Consciousness and Imposed Religions

Posted in Uncategorized on Jul 28th, 2008

There is a major problem in a number of religious and spiritual groups that claim to have the answers a person needs to develop their spiritual self. Religious beliefs often exist around firm belief structures regarding death, heaven, and absolute meaning. A number of spiritual beliefs tend to follow the same patterns when we become attached to them. These beliefs can bring about a dependence causing a feeling of aloneness after separating from the group.

The Subconscious Mind in Relationships

Posted in Uncategorized on Jul 22nd, 2008

Each interpersonal relationship a person engages in reveals an insight about their inner-self. In the process one can begin to notice certain reactions and paths that lead to dead-ends and other paths that lead to abundance. There is a constant and certain breaking down of boundaries, and this occurs not just between two people, but in the essence of all consciousness. The process is not just breaking down barriers though: it is re-integrating and rebalancing parts of ourselves.

2012 – Time and The Importance of Learning

Posted in Uncategorized on Jul 18th, 2008

As human beings the understanding we have of time is inaccurate. People often perceive time as something to be filled, something that we must occupy using our entire attention, rather than a guide on our journey. Now that concepts such as 2012 and the collapse of time are becoming more well-known some of the responses they attract are negative because the end of time is perceived by some as the end of everything else.

Overcoming Fear

Posted in Uncategorized on Jul 18th, 2008

Our fear is what holds us back from experiencing our full potential. The defence mechanisms we build to escape this fear restrict us to living in a certain level of experience, one that is not in alignment with our true nature.

To be in alignment with his or her true self a person must first let go of the fear that clouds their perspective. Holding on to this fear makes it difficult to accept reality as it really is. Often this fear causes us to construct a cover reality that is more appealing and seems more acceptable than the true experience beneath it.

Do You Fear Death?

Posted in Uncategorized on Jul 14th, 2008

Is life after death a larger issue for a Buddhist Monk or for a person living in the urban environment? Monks and others who are in touch with their deeper sense of self have already discovered the source of their anxieties about death and embrace them.

Seldom do such individuals externalize those anxieties outward calling on religion or science for answers to a dilemma that they themselves subconsciously created. There is no reason to fear these parts of ourselves but it is the shape of our modern world that perpetuates a fear of leaving the securities it provides.

iPhone Hypnotizing Modern Culture

Posted in Uncategorized on Jul 13th, 2008

The morning of thunder and rain that delays the appearance of the sun to a late dawn causes few people to think twice about getting up and running to stand in line outside the closest store selling the iPhone. There is little that would trump this anticipation that our modern tech-gadgets attract – whether observing a release last year in the US or a worldwide release this year – the social response is the same.

The release of the iPhone reveals a little bit about the common behaviour of our time when it comes to having the latest things. It is no longer unusual to expect such a great amount of anticipation over something that is brand new, but what is the point if we just to throw it out and replace it 12 months later with the next greatest invention? It seems we are programmed – hypnotized – to do this.

The Process of Being an Honest Person

Posted in Uncategorized on Jul 11th, 2008

Each experience that we undergo needs to be expressed in the full nature that makes it true, otherwise it becomes suppressed as the shadow falling from the light of our true self. It is blocking out these experiences that cause the mind to interfere and to label them with false interpretations and ideas – the reason that we lie about what is self-evident in front of us.

Once we derive that sense of feeling truthful from something outside of ourselves (the mind) rather than the experience as it exists, we begin to deceive ourselves into experiencing things as we choose to see them rather than as things are.

The Transition to a Mind-awake state and astral travel

Posted in Uncategorized on Jul 8th, 2008

To experience astral travel a person should first put themselves into a state of deep relaxation. There are a number of processes that occur before the body becomes calm and still, and the mind awakens. However these processes can all occur in a matter of seconds or can take up to an hour depending on the amount of practice a person has had with shifting from Mind/Body.

This week I posted a video on a technique to use breathing as a method of healing insomnia. This technique is also effective for charging the chakras and experiencing astral travel.

However there have been times where using this breathing method I achieved a consciousness shift in a few seconds and other times where nothing at all happened – so it is worthwhile keeping in mind that astral travel is more of an art than a replicable set of sequences for experiencing deeper consciousness.

Depression and Spiritual Healing

Posted in Uncategorized on Jul 6th, 2008

Our modern world seldom allows emotions to be expressed in an uninhibited voice. If we continue being disallowed to express our true emotions the feelings become de-pressed into the subconsciousness and manifest outward as a state of dissonance.

If a person becomes depressed doctors attempt to treat the depression – like a rash. Instead of facilitating the exploration and release of the suppressed emotion a person who is depressed is often regarded as someone who is sick.

The main problem that comes up when emotions are blocked is that our own responses and feelings get labelled as inappropriate or wrong. Often this causes a person to shift their perspective from expressing their true feelings to feeling broken and needing someone to fix them. It is no wonder that there are few stories about people who have fixed depression, but there are a lot of stories about people who have understood the emotions being suppressed and in dealing with them have overcome their depressed state.
